2021 marks the 250th anniversary of the death of Kurosawa Kinko, the founder of the founder of Kinko-Ryū from which the Araki style of shakuhachi playing descended. In honor of this anniversary, and in honor of the acquisition of an heirloom instrument made by his great-great grandfather and namesake, Araki Kodo VI (Hanzaburō) has released a collection of music significant to him and the Araki family.
